Hi! My name is KIKI and I'd like to tell you my story...  Im pretty sure I used to be loved by someone, and I must have lived in a home at some time but for some reason in late spring 2017, I found myself outside all alone trying to survive.   Thankfully some kind ladies did put food and water out for me, and then one day I realized I was about to have babies!   So I found a hidden spot to give birth where no one could see me so they wouldn't hurt my babies

But then.. all of a sudden ~ there were people pulling back the bushes which had been hiding my safe spot -and peering down at me and my sweet babies I was SO SCARED I just bolted and dashed away!   When I went back when it was quiet my babies werent where Id left them!   I could smell them & knew they were in this funny box, but I couldnt see them and ooh - I wanted so badly to get to them - but I was too scared to go in this tunnel thing in order to get closer to them.   I kept my distance, and then walked around to the door step of the house several times and tried to talk to the people on the porch and tell them I needed help to get to my babies but then Id get scared again and dash away.   I went back by the garage in the alley, and there were people in a car looking at me and a kind lady had the window down and was talking to me and kept telling me to go get the food in the trap by your babies and I answered back and told them OK.

There were some big dogs barking back in the alley, so I wanted to get far away from them anyway - so I quietly crept back where my babies were and went into that tunnel thing to get the smelly good food someone had put in there - I was SO HUNGRY - and then

WHAM!   Next thing I knew, I couldnt get out!   But then I realized my babies were close and I was so, so hungry, so I settled down and it wasnt long before the lady with the kind voice was pulling back the cover on the tunnel and talking to me!   Before long, my babies in the funny box were being carried off, along with me in the tunnel, and we were put inside a car and off to our new lives.

It didnt take me long to learn I had a wonderful safe place to feed my sweet babies all 9 of them and I now had a clean, dry warm place for them and lots of food and water for me!   A couple of my babies were really, really tiny, and I tried my best - but I just couldnt feed all of them and pretty soon there were only 7 babies for me to feed.   They were very hungry babies so I spent the next few weeks feeding them, eating, drinking and sleeping and cuddling with my babies - I was so content!

Kikis story is like so many other kitties who are taken in and not given any vet care, and then disposed of - like throwing out the trash   - when people need to move or just decide they dont want them anymore.   Thankfully LHAR volunteers were called to help save this feline family before a thunderstorm hit; more than likely the kittens would have drowned in the window well where shed given birth on 8/1/17.   The lady who had been feeding them was so thankful we were able to rescue them that night, and she's also been generously asking friends & family for donations to help pay for the vetting of this large feline family, too!   Kiki is so super sweet, calm,   and laid back and wants nothing more than to lay on your lap and purr!   She doesnt seem to mind other cats, but she got real upset when she saw her foster moms dog and hissed like crazy - those dogs in the neighborhood probably scared her pretty badly!

Kiki is probably less than 2 years old, is a beautiful Gray and White domestic shorthair, has already tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, had 2 FVRCP vaccinations and been treated for internal / external parasites.   She will be spayed, given her rabies vaccination and microchipped (with a free LIFETIME registration) on 10/26/17 and will be ready to start her new life and have her furrever family take her home on November 1st!   Her adoption fee will only be $85.00!!

Kikis 5 babies up for adoption are Mimosa, Sangria, Daiquari, Flirtini and Sambuca (two others - Martini and Mojito are already spoken for).   They will be 12 weeks old on 10/24 and will also be vetted on 10/26 and be able to be adopted on 11/1/17.

Kiki lives in a foster home and is available to be seen by appointment. She may make appearances at our weekly open house events but please watch our Facebook page to see who is attending the events. You may also let us know if you want to meet her specifically and we'll set up a time!
